Battlefield 3 at E3

Dice, EA and Battlefield 3 have been at E3 over the last few days, and as a result there are masses of juicy updates for your delectation!

First up, take a look at the work that went into setting up the BF3 stand at E3 HERE

Now with that comparatively boring stuff out of the way we can move on to something far more yummy: some videos!

First up, here’s the “Thunder Run” singleplayer footage trailer. This video got me feeling all funny inside!

Next up, here’s a short video made for E3 detailing some of the power of the Frostbite 2 engine:

Now, saving the best till last, some multiplayer footage!

Here’s a short video entitled “Operation Metro”, which gives a brief mouth watering glimpse at some fabulous looking multiplayer carnage. The action looks unbelievable and extremely intense when it moves into the more confined areas of the station and it’s trains.

This game is really shaping up to be something special judging by what can be seen in the above videos. Personally for me it’s hard to be objective when faced with the prospect of something that looks as glorious as BF3. But stay objective I must. I really do hope that this game is everything it’s being hyped up to be. As long as it keeps the Battlefield fundamentals in tact I’m sure it will be.

The Battlefield 3 Beta is due to go live in September and, most importantly, a release date for the full game has been set: 25.10.11
I for one can’t wait.

Post updated. For some reason the Operation Metro video wasn’t linking to the right video on YouTube. Corrected, so now you can actually see some multiplayer footage! 🙂
